In 2015-2016, he worked at the University of Alabama Birmingham and took his knowledge to the Birmingham VA Hospital, where he established a cardiac oncology program with a cardiac echocardiography unit. He was the director of Virginia Commonwealth University's cardiac oncology program from 2017 to 2018.
